The fact that the literature is perforated has to be, in some way, a certain coverage of gaps. And that from time to time there were things that would otherwise be hard to get in the way. For example, the anthologies of the black humor in Spanish. It was not long before the door Thirce was called, from the time when the number did not carry a finger. Two decision-makers: Joseba Sarrionandia and Mitxel Sarasketa, also responsible for translation. For the year it was published, the anthology was cured in prison. With the precarious prison conditions it is logical. The result was as follows: some short stories, even shorter ones – think, some aphorism from time to time, to say of Francis Picabia: “Admiring, as well as condemning, is built on bad reasons”– all of which refer to the blackest humor that is said to be the most true. Authors known as Franz Kafka or Gabriel García Márquez. Others such as Ambrose Bierce or Pere Calders. Others to know, like Saki or Max Aub. And other surprising ones, like Kostas Axelos or Gonzalo Suárez. In total, thirteen. The discovery of the rest – for example, Leonora Carrington – we will leave it to the reader.
The only exemplary of the series “The Black Humor in Spanish” that had no follow-up – condolences! – the book is not a great thing in itself; I mean, the black humor in Spanish would deserve a more graphic anthology in Basque. For example, something that would approach that Anthologie de l’humour noir, as recognized in the preamble here, “because it is classic and model, the surrealist Andre Breton” – both classic and so model, that we will also find some texts by author from there, from Picabia, Kafka, Carrington. And Gonzalo Suárez has a prominent story, in which he demonstrates that the earth is spherical. In general, Pere Calders is always a guarantee, and we come from the Train and the Dust and they are a memory for us. Kostas Axelos, besides being the most pleasant surprise, will be the finest of the anthologies. But the title reflects well the nature of the anthology, in general of an anthology: to offer a door, a door, in this case to know the work of thirteen authors. Anthology is an invitation. And so what we have in our hands fulfils its role.
