  • Keu Agirretxea::In the middle of low pressure Mamusik, 2013
Iker Barandiaran @IkerBarandiara 2014ko otsailaren 13a

Beyond the big names, there are other almost unknown musicians who work in Basque musical activity and activity. Its harvest – although it does not appear in the Wikipedia – is large and often very varied. One of them is undoubtedly the ondarrutarra Jose Mari Keu Agirretxea.

Keu Agirretxea cannot live without music. Collecting your route on lines is almost impossible: In the Psychophony group he worked the extreme metal; Zain was an acoustic project created for the receipts; Etsaiak worked for a long time with punk and hardkorea pyrotechnics; JSangre merges forces with the Fjord group, precursor of Governors; Keu experiments with the guitar and creates acoustic records; Hirukue. In addition to playing with the Governors group, Denbora Vs. Kantua has worked on the soundtrack of the film Gazta zati bat and also on acoustic concerts such as Fignuh Experience or Keu Agirretxea since 2011. From the beginning, Mikel Arakistain, an exquisite bassist, has Mikel Arakistain by his side.

All of this, together with the family and work, has written songs above all the butchers and below all the clouds, has been smiling and has taken some time to record at home. This record, paradoxically under the pressure of time and obligations, is, in my view, the most round and daring it has achieved. Recorded at home by Keu and Jose M. at Audiomatic Records in Madrid. Mastered by Rosillo.

Keu Agirretxea's songs defend themselves, without help, are so naked and authentic, but in this work, more than ever, Keu and fellow travellers have brought precise nuances and nuances to the just dimension of the song. The slide guitar that dominates Keu has given more depth and warmth to some of its themes, near the coordinates of the American folk and the country (In each, for each Wave…). In addition, thanks to their fellow travellers, the songs and the audience will travel further: Accompanied by the programming of Xabi Solano, no one tells us can reach environments of mestizaje The trumpet of Esteban Valcárcel opens the Cuban spirit in the song Bi izan, with the participation of Eneko Mobydick in the voice, becoming one of the most beautiful pieces of the album. Moreover, with the saxo of Isusko Ramón they have led Inperfektua and Hauskor bossanova and the Caribbean camps, and perhaps the synthesizers of Carlos Noáin are guilty that the intriguing galactic force is suitable for a soundtrack.

Beautiful words, a void, memories and solidarity (on the Bridge) with Keu and other firms such as: Leire Bilbao, Mikel Etxaburu, Eneko Garmendia and Aiert Goenaga.
