Congratulations to those of Glaukoma. Without losing the freshness, the group is coming. They follow the trajectory of Vol.1 (Acción Bonberenea, 2012), which they already showed on their previous album, but have added new nuances and nuances to their songs, and have created a round, exceptional work. The sound has become stronger than that of the previous album.
Starting from the same trunk, new branches have been discovered. That is, reggae and rap are the main axes of Glaukoma, but on their second album have also worked the rhythms and melodies jungle, drum & bass and dubsteps. Evolution has been natural, sought and found naturally. After the impact of the first album, the members of the group have not stayed there and have chosen to explore new ways to put their new songs, and that is something that is worth it.
In the second work they have had the same design that was used to perform the previous album. The cover of the first album is black and only the name of the band and the title Vol.1 appear. The cover of the second album, on the other hand, is white, and you can only read the name of the band and the title of Vol.2. In both albums you can hear seven songs. Therefore, on the skin and on the background, it is evident that one disc is a continuation of the other.
Glaucoma is a symptom that does not make it clear. The members of the group believe that society is affected by glaucoma and that with its songs the evils that affect society emerge. Seeing how society is and where it's going, they make their point of view known in the songs.
Here are some of the phrases you have taken from your words: “On the map of the industry the coordinates are wrong, their only goal is money”; “put a cuckola to my inner pains”; “commit suicide”; “while society loses the north, the impetuous owners of money sell culture”; “hijack the sovereignty of the peoples from the moment they say the market is free”; “on these nights when the black shadows are raised, on all four legs.
They continue to mix Basque, Spanish and English, but most of the words in this second album have been written in Basque. The theme Away from the silence, of the Barcelona group tears of Blood, has been recorded in Spanish by the musicians Microbio and Still Ill. Also, Jon Altuna has adorned the songs with his keyboards in the recording sessions, and Karlos Osinaga has also done a great job in recording, mixing and mastering songs.
The other musicians who have participated in the recording of the album are the members of the group Glaukoma: Pablo Rubio (drums), Asier Arandia (bass), Jokin Albisua (guitar), Iker Pando (guitar and voice) and Juantxo Arakama (voice) are the protagonists of the day.
It's clear that the members of the group enjoy playing their own songs, and that's polluted, because they put the record on the device and start moving the body parts unconsciously. Melodies are compact, and songs convey a lot of intensity, they're very vivid and strong. Melodies and rhythms catch us and we can't escape.
We are glad that the Glaukoma continue to have imagination, salt and pepper, and are not afraid to take new paths. In addition, they keep making great songs. These songs, as well as in Euskal Herria, are listening further and further away – they have played in Japan at the end of October and the beginning of November. No wonder.
