Itziar Claver and Haizea Ramírez de Alda must pay EUR 6,000 each and two days of arrest. The fine has already been paid and the arrest will take place between 23 and 24 November.

The two members of the Basque Country Herrian Euskaraz were charged with the events that took place in November 2011 in the framework of the Supreme Court. Claver and Ramirez de Alda participated in the act of Alsasua Suppress and live in Basque. The agents identified them on the street and imposed a fine of 300 euros for having practiced them only in Basque. The fine was appealed and suspended.

Shortly afterwards, they were charged with a crime of abolishing 16 signals in Alsasua, fine of EUR 6,000 and arrest. Claver, the defendant, has denounced the situation: “In our people we have long been condemned to be big citizens; we have to be calm, obedient, if we don’t want to be grieved for being who we are.”
