First Anniversary of Hurricane Sandy in New York
In late October 2012, Hurricane Sandy crashed in New York City. In total, damage of EUR 45 billion and 210 deaths have been recorded, figures that have been generated by the disaster. The inhabitants of the city have been concerned since then. On the one hand, the need to renovate some public buildings, such as the South Ferry metro station, which cost EUR 500 million and was destroyed, will oblige as many others to modernise.
On the other hand, as the height of the water reached by Sandy was the highest in history, more and more people have decided to leave the lands of Manhattan.
