It is 40 years since the inauguration of the Sydney Opera House. The project of the Danish architect Jørn Utzon (1918-2008) was innovative in many ways. It paved the way for the construction of complex geometric shapes, being one of the first to use computational analysis to build these forms. He also pioneered the use of the substance called araldite to glue prefabricated elements. However, when the building budget increased by 1,400%, the work was published in Utzon. Despite having reconciled with the opera board before the architect's death, Utzon did not participate again in a major project.
