Astrophysics and genetics, protagonists of the Elhuyar Awards

Last week, Elhuyar, with the support of the railway company CAF, gave three scientific outreach awards, a scholarship and a meritorious prize.

In the scientific journalism section, Gorka Zabaleta, journalist of the magazine Baleike de Zumaia, was in charge of collecting the prize, with his work Universe was a very hot soup. The laureate was Ángel Uranga, a physicist at CERN. Isabel Mendizabal received the prize of a publicity article based on the thesis of her author with the work The Gypsy Origin, reflected in the DNA. In addition to the prizes, the scientific creation scholarship has been awarded for the first time in society and the winning project has been Balorberriz.
