The City Heart project was launched in Copenhagen in 1976 and the first Saturday of May, at the EuroPrevent 2012 conference, the first results have been presented.
Among those who run regularly, it is said that life is extended on average: 6.2 years for men and 5.6 years for women. In total, 20,000 people aged between 20 and 93 have been interviewed and injured. The best results have been those of the runners who have not run until tiredness, that is, who have not done extreme sport. Among the improvements experienced by these people are: they better absorb oxygen, increase insulin sensitivity, increase good cholesterol and lower triglyceride levels, and improve heart rate.
