The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, has announced his intention to transfer to Monday the public holidays that are adapted throughout the week. And that of Spain is not the only state in which it has been concerned about public holidays in this time of crisis.
Astrophysicists and economists at Johns Hopkins University have created a calendar in which holidays don't change every year. Most months would be 30 days, except for March, June, September and December, which would last 31 days. Every five or six years (2015, 2020, 2026, 2032...) would be added a week to December.
As has been said, this system would always lead to the celebration of public holidays on the same day of the week. This would bring significant financial advantages.
