Denis lives with his grandfather on the mountain, far from town and school, and that is why he has not learned to read or write. In search of a solution to this problem they invite Denis’s cousin to spend the Christmas holidays with them on the edge of the mountain, and so they can teach him to read and escribir.Este book of

Kazabon is the narrative of those holidays, how Edurne arrived, how he began to know the surroundings with the help of Denis, how the girl learned to read the sky: “Red morning, afternoon rain” (page 45); land marks: "Do you see these terrestrial brands?" All these red lands, in the evening, the wild boar in search of food, are infested with the snout” (page 30), reading the behavior of the geese: “It’s cold. And that tomorrow, maybe, snow becomes an act of presence. The geese are very fast, and when they feel the tickles of the winter cold behind, they flee in search of a better time” (page 23). Over the days, the reader will learn more about the life in the mountain, the relationship between
Edurne and Denis, and will also know more about nature, but also the feeling that is emerging among boys and girls, stronger than friendship.

Antton Kazabon offers us a work of events, adventures, very easy in its structure (explains the things that occur every day in a chronological order) and simple in its writing, transmitting a lot of information through conversations (which contributes, among other things, lightness to the text, facilitates reading making it more alive). But in this simplicity there is more than one message; of friendship, of ecology, of knowledge of nature… Also of culture. Edurne has to teach Denis to read letters, to write letters, but Edurne himself learns to read much more with Denis’s teaching. And culture, if you're conscious, there's a pretty reflection in an interview between Edurne and Denis.
“Tomorrow we will have to start, Edurne. If I don't learn to read, my grandfather will tell me that I will be an ignorant all my life. I don’t want to do it, but… You know, I’m comfortable between leaves and leaves, but between the leaves of the books… I don’t know how I’ll fix them.

"Ignorant?" I would like you to know as much as you do” (pages 41 to 42).In addition, the images of Jokin Larrea, the black and white images that reflect the situation and the illustrations that fit the tone of the book, help this
reading loves and loves.
