The Olaitturri Cultural Association of Oñati has published in an elegant edition the play written by Iñazio Irizar and Jerardo Elortza in the book Popular Theatre of two Olaitturri. We can read these texts in Basque on the right pages of the book and on the left in Basque. Both are based on facts that actually happened. The first, called the Oñati Convention, dates back to 1542, when the Counts of Gebarán ruled the town. The second, called Txamao de Lizargarat, takes place in 1760 and the benefits and damages that the university of Oñati brought to the town are the center of the plot.
