The PSOE-EAJ: Over Patxi Lopez?

AROMA ELECTORAL
is spreading bapo in Basque politics. As expected, the proposal of the Patriotic Left has not obtained the assent of Aralar and EA, but it has offered the Patriotic Left, among other things, the opportunity to prepare the campaign, although it is not yet known whether it can be legally present or not.

The proposal comes late for it to be carried out, but also, even if the NaBai parties had the best will, it is not only up to them to present the nationalist left to the elections. In other words, you can’t change the recent political past from one moment to the next, it takes time. This is what the Nationalist Left says when it asks for faster rates of change and it will also have to understand and respect this for others as well.

But deep down, the nationalist left has thrown the bait in the political future of Navarre, clearly indicating which fish it would like to receive. And it is clear that in the political space of Navarre in the near future there is no place for the three nationalist forces that consider themselves to be left-wing, Aralar, EA and the nationalist left. It is clear that such a dispersion of forces would not be good for patriotism either.

After all, it is the PNV and the Nationalist Left who have spoken most clearly, making it clear that they do not want anything from each other, at least in view of the elections. But what do they want?

The PATRIOTIC LEFT is being clear in its strategic approach: abandoning the armed struggle and overthrowing the left. Challenge the domination of nationalists by nationalists and launch a democratic confrontation with the state for the sake of the right to decide. And if all this, which is not easy to imagine, were to take place, would it be possible to go to the Cunning with the jealous of Unification?

If we pay attention to the analyst José Luis Zubizarreta – and Ardanza’s former advisor – it is difficult, because in his opinion the current love of EAJ and PSOE will have solid roots for the future. More and more people think like him. It must be above the PP-PSOE treaty. And maybe even above Patxi Lopez.

For José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, the agreement with the Jeltzales has been a blessed water. But the Madrid-Vitoria competition parade, which will be represented in the coming months, will strengthen the nationalists and significantly erode López’s government. And, from the outside, it would seem that Zapatero is campaigning for Urkullu. Or going further, that the nationalists and socialists are working on the future separation of powers: one to govern between the two; two, respecting the most voted list, so that in the right place each one accepts the majority of the other. This is a possible picture for the post-ETA scenario.
