The Zubieta incinerator has fireplaces (two) and is already seen
  • Could the Zubieta incinerator not have a fireplace? This was suggested by the GHK and the computer images that the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa opened before the start of the works. During these days, however, the neighbours of Usurbil who have furnaces in front of their noses have been able to see at a glance and from the street two tubes on the roof of the incinerator: there are the fireplaces.

A neighbour of Usurbil has sent us today, 5 March, this picture close to the works of the incinerator. From among the flower masses, to the skirts of Mount Andatza, the image taken shows the incinerator of Zubieta, whose work is very advanced, with the two chimneys on the left of the photograph.

At the top of the photograph you can see the urban centre of Usurbil less than two kilometres from the ovens and between them the river Oria and the banks. On the right, a few meters away are the ikastola Landaberri and the football fields of the Real Sociedad and further away the town of Lasarte-Oria. A little further, just 5 kilometers from the incinerator of the Environment of Gipuzkoa, the cement factory Cementos Rezola de San Sebastián is burning garbage in Añorga, the first incinerator in San Sebastian.
