Alarms have been turned on again in school canteens, after learning that they found bugs in the plates of six school menus. Ausolan explains that they found it in the cauliflower served in five centers and that the cauliflower of the same party was sent to another 10 centers, but they did not prepare it.
The company has attributed the presence of bugs to "natural changes caused by drought", since "combined with the particular morphology of cauliflower, they make it very difficult to detect the presence of this insect". The catering company certifies that all information has been transferred to the "relevant authorities" and that "all items of cauliflower likely to be affected have been immediately affected".
In fact, last month the Department of Education of the Basque Government decided to cancel the contracts of the company Serunion, S.A. to provide the dining service it had in various centers of the CAPV, due to the various problems that were denounced during this course in the menus of several centers.
