Green Capital had planned to carry out the wind farm project in Ezkeltzu on the lands of Usurbil and Zizurkil, but the media outlet Noaua announced last December that it would not be carried out, based on a resolution sent by the Basque Government to the city council of Usurbil. But in this news they warned that the company still had the possibility to file an appeal and therefore the administrative procedure was not finished.

This time the news comes from the City Council of Zizurkil: In a statement made public by the City Council, the company Green Capital informed him verbally of its decision to definitively cancel the project that foresaw the installation of four windmills of more than 200 meters in Ezkeltzu.

Airplanes stop the windmills

"The technical opinions of the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) have been decisive in deciding the project's shutdown, since, according to the agency, the Zizurkil project could cause air safety problems. As a result, it has become impossible to execute the project."

Last September we reported on the obstacles that this project faced with air safety.
