The trial began in Bilbao on Wednesday, 15 June and ended today, according to Berria. The Public Prosecutor’s Office proposed an agreement to the defence of young people, but the young people did not accept it, and the trial has concluded with the ratification of the initial criminal applications. Young people are accused of attack and injury to the authority, and Ernai denounces “police assembly”.

Eight detainees and dozens of wounded

In May of last year, Ernaik called for mobilizations in various places in the Basque Country to “denounce the emergency situation experienced by young people and demand social transformation and sovereignty”. In Bilbao and Vitoria the Ertzaintza rebelled against the young: Seven young people were arrested by the police in Bilbao, two of whom had to be treated at the hospital, one in Vitoria and more than 60 were injured, according to Ernai.
