This Friday several people have concentrated before the Baiona Court, where the case against the police that struck the student Lola Villabriga in December 2018 has failed. According to the judgment, the agent must pay a fine of EUR 15 for 90 days, according to the local newspaper 'Berria'. The second trial in which compensation will be determined will be held on 17 September.
The defence has argued that this is an "accident" and has referred to the "violence" which, as he said, the police suffer. He also stressed the "need" of the police to "guarantee the security" of civil society.
The Desarmons Les has witnessed police abuses and claimed that the officers confiscate the weapons they use in the police operation. “LBD launchers are used in times of war,” the organization has denounced. Villabriga’s lawyer, Sophie Bussier, has stated that the weapons the police handle are “anti-liberals”, while freedom of expression is in a “vulnerable” situation.
Bussier has placed the wound that Villabriga received in the context of the G7 and has denounced that Villabriga was "wounded to intimidate the protesters". It therefore calls for a ban on LBD40 launchers.
