The Spanish Government will transfer the Basque prisoners Andon Murga, Jon Zubiaurre and Liher Aretxabaleta to Martutene and Zaballa, and on the other hand, it will bring four Basque prisoners who were in the Andalusian prison of Puerto III, once they passed from first grade to second grade. Specifically, it is Jesús Mari Etxeberria Daniel Pastor, Iñaki Bilbao and Óscar Barrera, who will be transferred to the prisons of Mansilla, Topas, Zuera and Logroño.

The Spanish Ministry of the Interior has stressed that these movements "have ended the policy of dispersion" which it drives. And that is that, as those from Puerto III move, there are no Basque prisoners left in Andalusia.

Network: "Nothing's over"

The Sare citizens' network said that "we have left behind the prisons that are further away" and that "a new phase opens". The dynamics in favour of the rights of Basque prisoners and exiles have underlined that transfers so far "alleviate the burden borne by family members".

However, he recalled that "nothing has been done", but that the process has been initiated for prisoners to "go home", in his words: "This will be done primarily through the progression of grades," he explained. This is one of Sare’s main objectives from now on.
