Today, 27 May, it is 91 years since the Ategorrieta massacre. In 1931, shortly after the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, the Pasaitarras fishermen were on strike and on 27 May organized a march from Trintxerpe to the Center of San Sebastian. About Miraculous, the military let the workers pass, but they were told of the presence of the Civil Guard in Ategorrieta.

Upon arriving at Ategorrieta, the Civil Guard began firing and killed seven strikers and 33 others wounded. During this day of strike, more than 3,000 people met in the mobilizations of the fishermen. The Socialist Council San Sebastian has published in Gedar Langile Kazeta a leaflet on the facts, which can be read in the following link.

Political act

The Socialist Council Donostia will hold a political event on 27 May at 19:00 on the Ategorrieta watch. They say that the "folkloric and working-class use" of these facts must be denounced and stress the need to make a political reading of this type of historical process.
