The Gaztetxe de Vitoria-Gasteiz will host a conference in March on "Memoria Zapalduon"
  • In order to offer a copy to the collective memory of this people, the Gaztetxe de Vitoria-Gasteiz has prepared a comprehensive programme from 3 to 28 March. "It is a resistance action to work to keep the memory alive and keep alive," said the promoters of the Zapalduon memory days.

In the words of the members of the Gaztetxe, "the memory, the memory or the story seems to us an exercise of reasoning the present and, therefore, of distorting the conflict, of distorting the political struggles, of using the ideological weapon for its benefit".

As an example, the Victims of Terrorism Memorial project has been set as an example. "There have been campaigns denouncing different social actors and we have been concerned and questioned about this attempt to instrumentalize memory. It has also led us to identify the deficiencies that we have in society in general and us in particular: we have perceived a limited knowledge of history and a lack of reflection about it".

The presentation of the comic book Harkaitz Cano and Adur Larrearen Antzara will open next week’s show. The programming will be completed with conferences, round tables, exhibitions and a projection and colloquium of the documentary Bahía de Pasaia.
