- The citizen platform appeared on Thursday afternoon in the Eitzaga district of Zaldibar (Bizkaia). They call for the bodies of Joaquín Beltrán and Alberto Soluluze to be located and the responsibilities for his death to be removed and call "to stop normality that is not real".
Zaldibar Argitu has called for a three-hour strike on Thursday, March 12, from 12:00 to 15:00 hours in Eibar, Zaldibar, Ermua, Elgeta and Mallabia. The platform has made the announcement almost a month after the landfill collapsed, and on Friday at 18:00 hours they will make a floral offering to the missing workers.
The workers have recalled that they are still missing and have explained that, first of all, ‘the main concerns of citizens have not been addressed. No one has assumed any political responsibility and that is unacceptable in today's society." They call for clarification of all irregular practices through "public and transparent information".
They have therefore appealed to the peoples around the world to support the uprising and to participate in the demonstrations that have been organized on that day. At 18:00 hours they will undertake a joint mobilization from the roundabout of Eibar with Ermua. They have asked the trade unions and the social partners to join the mobilisations and to show solidarity with the other peoples.
They have also called on the institutions to "take concrete steps" to ensure that the Zaldibar case does not recur. They will present a 12-point claim table for analysis and compliance point by point "until finding the workers, in defense of our health and life and until clarifying all political responsibilities".
