The Spanish President, Pedro Sánchez, has advanced the general elections for 23 July, following the poor results of the PSOE yesterday.
In Andalusia the PSOE has been hit hard – the PP, as it has never done in seven of the eight capitals before – in Extremadura too, in Aragon, in the Balearic Islands... and in Madrid, in the community and in the city hall it will have an absolute majority.
Pedro Sánchez has decided to advance the elections before the sound increases. Indeed, running ahead of the elections can also help the great decline of Podemos, a member of the government, and emerge in a crisis situation, allowing it to reach agreements, among other things, in relation to the Sumar platform.
In addition, municipal and regional governments will be completed with the general election campaigns about to start. In these cases, in places like Valencia and Extremadura, the PP has at its disposal to govern, but associated with Vox, and the PSOE can use it to conduct the campaign.
