The Roncal Valley celebrates the Festival of Promotion and Active Maintenance of the Basque Country. Day of the Valley, which is held every year on a rotating basis in the villages of the valley, is celebrated this year in Burgui on 21 May. After two years, the celebration is loaded with activities, in traditional format, and from the morning there will be children's games and shows, fair, exhibition of jumps, popular food, music and dance, among others.
"This rare era is abandoned and it touches a change of rhythm. We changed the chip and placed it as a BBQ," said the members of the Keben Cultural Association, in charge of organizing the party. The chip will change this year’s motto, referring to the fish that is often seen on the Ezka River, as the Burgans are called: "A sympathetic, active fish that knows how to swim against the current as minority languages and that is a great friend to move in groups."
This year, moreover, they have a round date, it is 25 years that began to take place on Valley Day. That's why they have also published a special journal.
