The remains of Francisco de la Cruz Orellana are in the hands of their relatives after over 80 years. Cruz Orellana died in Orduña's Franco prison. Their bones were found in the excavation carried out in 2014, in the cemetery of the city, but so far they have been in the Columbario of Dignity because they could not identify them at the time. In 2022, the relatives of the Biscayan people of Mallabia contacted the Gogortza Institute when new excavations were carried out in the cemetery. So they took their DNA samples and so they managed to identify the caramels.

The bones of the deceased will be buried in the village of Quintana de la Serena, in Badajoz.

To date, the Gogoan Institute has identified nine people through DNA tests, almost all from Badajoz:

  • Fructuoso Llorens Tolosano de Fuente de Maestro de Badajoz.
  • Manuel and Salvador Del Amo Jiménez, brothers of Villagonzaloa (Badajoz)
  • Alejandro Gómez Hidalgo, del pueblo toledano de Carpio de Tajo
  • Alfonso Tena Prieto de Don Álvaro, de Badajoz
  • Domingo Galindo González, born in La Morera, in Badajoz
  • Inocencio Gallardo Rebolledo, de Magacela, Badajoz
  • Bernardo Rodríguez Rincón, de Campanario, Badajoz
  • Francisco de la Cruz Orellana, Quintana de la Serena, Badajoz

Most of the remains were delivered to the relatives in August 2023, in an act celebrated in the Columbario of Dignity:

However, the bones of another 71 people, in which the Gogoratuz Institute works, have yet to be identified. On this road he has already had contacts with about 60 families.
