They denounce in Chile the creators of the song 'A rapist on your way' for "inciting violence against the police"
  • The complaint is based on a video by the feminist collective Las Theses of Chile, which says "fire to the pacos" (fire to the police).

In the middle of 20 minutes, the Chilean Carabineros have denounced Las Theses, the band run by Carabinero, for the song A Rapist on your way, which has become popular all over the world. The Chilean Police has argued that a video uploaded to their social networks "incites violent aggression against the police" in the Caribbean country.

“Pakoak sua,” the Las Theses group said in a video uploaded to the YouTube platform on May 27. The term “Pako” is the derogatory form used in Chile to designate the Carabineros.

The police forces argue in the report that it is "worrying" that the actions of this group can provoke "violent" reactions against the poilicies and their "workers". Far from being an isolated event, the Police justifies that it has become a "regular act as of October 18, 2019."

At that time, the so-called “social explosion” began in Chile. Mass demonstrations were held throughout the country calling for social equality. The response of the Chilean armed forces was very violent.
