INPRIMATU
I would like to understand…
  • I should like to know how my people’s neighbours voted in the last elections. I'd like to know who I drink morning coffee with in the town's inns. I would like to understand why these results have occurred in Iparralde.

I cannot understand the success of the extreme right in our peoples. I do not understand that! What motivates these votes? I can't think, I don't want to think that a third of the Labortans, Bajonavarros and Xuberians can be racist. I don't understand how in Euskal Herria, where he has known migration in his history, he may be afraid of immigration. I do not understand where that fear of others can come from. It is not possible either here or in our territory.

“I can’t think, I don’t want to think that a third of the Labortans, Bajonavarros and Xuberians can be racist. I do not understand how in the Basque Country, where he has known migration in his history, he may be afraid of immigration...”

So how do you understand those votes? What to see in the liver? What is the journey? It is heard that it can be a denial of the French Government and in particular of lehendakari Macron, an increase in living expenses for others, or that the reform of the reserves has something to do with … OK. But how do you move from it to voting on the extreme right? What can make you think that the extreme right will bring answers or changes? Where should we go so as not to know what the values or perspectives of the extreme right are?

When you vote for the extreme right, you vote for all those things. And today, those things, those ideas that bring the extreme right, are known, you can't ignore. That scares me.

I do not understand this diversion. At the same time, how can we not underline the event and applaud the election of the first Basque Member of Ipar Euskal Herria? A victory for the Abertzales, an Abertzale voice in Euskal Herria in the midst of French power. That is no small thing! How not to link up with the first Member of 1789, Dominique Joseph Garat: “My province protests!” We can believe it will.

This victory was possible after the first meeting of left-wing forces at the Palau Blaugrana de Catalunya. The EHBai commitment has been to be part of the New Popular Front. This union has given rise to questions and discussions in every way. But it has been done. In the second round, the position of the Basque Nationalist Party is to be highlighted. Whether with left-wing parties or with the PNV, what has happened can have positive consequences. You can change things together.

With all these prospects it can be thought that hope can be created for the more Iparralde voters and that the initial doubts of this word sar can be overcome. It will create new confidence in the future. That is what we have to understand in the face of what has happened.
