- The City Hall of Tudela published on 25 May the competition for a Municipal Police Square. The knowledge of German, French and English had a value of five points, while the knowledge of Euskera was not valued. The decision of the City Council not to take account of the Basque Country led to the lodging of a complaint with the Ombudsman of Navarra.
On September 5, the Town Hall of Tudela considered that its attitude was appropriate, "the assessment of Euskera in the access to jobs of local non-Basque entities such as Tudela is not mandatory".
The office of the Ombudsman responded that the support granted by the Vascuence Law to the Basque Country in Navarre is also applicable to jobs in local entities in non-Basque areas. For this reason, he pointed out that, in these competitions, at least the Basque country must have the same value as the foreign languages.
The Mayor of Tudela, Eneko Larrarte, has rejected the Ararteko recommendation because “the assessment of the Basque country below other languages is not the basis of the matter. Only, in the absence of any obligation, it has not been assessed”.
The Tudela Cup group has described these statements by the mayor of Tudela as "insincere". He has also described as "sad" that they take precedence over the conservation, conservation and protection of a "treasure" like Lingua Navarrorum to defend their own political interests.
