The struggle, which began with few setbacks, has already encountered obstacles that could have been expected beforehand. Since the arrival of representatives of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in San Sebastián, the Basque Government has multiplied its efforts to prevent Vida Da Menor from staining the postcard of the city, as shown by the number of border guards surrounding Tabakalera on Wednesday.
On Tuesday night, Life Is Greater began welcoming TME’s. They took to the streets at night, hung the WTO go home banner in front of the five-star hotel Maria Kristina, and fired a rocket into the air. Five people were identified that night.
On Thursday morning several friends gathered in front of the Kursaal, convened by the platform and pensioners with VivaLagunE. A second warning was given to the representatives of the UNWTO, shouting "tourism kills the people". An attempt was also made to send a message to the members of the Assembly, at which time the UNWTO showed what would be confirmed in Tabakalera in the afternoon: the people’s demands will not cross the wall surrounding the tourism summit.
The building on Idiakez Street hosted a daily popular lez lunch, after which Iñaki Gil de San Vicente gave a talk about San Sebastian and European capital. As Stephen Eizagir wrote, what is behind tourism? he bare the question, and for the second time he confirmed what would happen in a few hours. "Today it is the second most profitable business for world capital (after the arms industry), and tourism needs spaces of this type: sewn by the police, streets that show no social conflict."
Gladys Enea Park was the next date for Life Is Greater. There were two lectures, one by Kalética to explain the situation of the homeless in San Sebastián and the other on the prisoners, given by Kalera Kalea.
The Life Is The Greatest finished the speeches and began the assembly, while Tabakalera was surrounded by boarders. The assembly also received an aerial visit: a drone was stalked. The representatives of the TME in the assembly refined the action that would be carried out during the lunchtime in Tabakalera. Given the amount of police resources that the Basque Government installed in the area, it was decided that they would not make any attempt to enter Tabakalera, that they would make noise with whistles and that the action would be terminated.
But it wasn't that easy. The police rushed, identified some journalists and the individuals who were filming, and pulled the batons to beat the protesters who kept their hands up. Taking advantage of the impulse, the gunmen threw two people to the ground and took away their chillies. It was a tense moment.

The detainees were admitted to the police station at around 10 p.m., and members of the Greater Life organized shifts to receive and protect the members at the time of release of the detainees.
The San Sebastian postcard, which is sold to tourists, then turned into wet paper. Instead of the sun, the pintxos and the beach, the rain, the thorns and the detainee prepared the city. The detainees were released around 1:30 p.m., accusing the authorities of making a serious residence.
Joint response to repression
Vida Da Mayor kicks off Thursday morning with a press conference to denounce arrests and police abuse. In front of the Basque Government, with the support of the people who have appeared to express their solidarity and the two Zapatistas who are standing at the gates of the occupied building, the people of Vida Da Grande have said: "Yesterday afternoon, representatives of the World Tourism Organization had a lunch in Tabakalera. In what is said to be the cult, clean and idyllic square of citizenship and coexistence. We made a peaceful protest with the intention of rejecting this, because we understand that the tourism of San Sebastián causes serious damage to the city, leaving it a postcard as beautiful as dead that no one can live on. Our weapons were whistles and screams. In response to this, the Basque Government put an exaggerated number of police officers in front of us. The attitude of the police was very disproportionate: for no reason, we were brutally beaten by those who protested. We used disobedience and solidarity in the face of this violent abuse; however, two members were arbitrarily arrested."

It’s up to the people of La Vida Da Grande to step up with the events of Tabakalera and continue with the week of social struggles. Thursday’s program has been extensive: after lunch, a conference on digital security has been held at the “citizens’ house”, which has been followed by two meetings. At 6:30 p.m., feminist movements meet on the Boulevard against the wars. It is recalled that on Saturday at 12:00 hours there will be a demonstration in Getxo to denounce the arms company Sener.
From the boulevard they go to the height of the Church of Santa María, where, as every Thursday, the Hotel + NO platform calls for a rally against tourism and the hotel that is planned to be built in the Old Town.
Thursday night has been the most lively and busy so far. The culture has its stage in the occupied building: two Argentine women became feminist monologues and after dinner two concerts were held, Hatxe and Eraul. It was time to calm down and enjoy the tensions.
The Friday demonstration
Life Is The Greatest begins Friday digested by damage and revitalized by joy. Today’s meeting will be important at 6:30 p.m., as all agents and citizens have been invited to participate in the demonstration called by the platform VivaLagunCon. Starting from Sagués, and with or without the weather, the organization of La Vida Da Grande hopes to gather a multitude.
