In an indefinite strike since March 8, the workers’ committee of Productos Tubulares de Trapagarán met this Wednesday with the management, who informed them of their intentions. In the company of 430 employees, 157 want to be dismissed. The management plans to reduce the salary of the workers who will remain by 25% and increase the working hours per year from 1,680 to 1,704.
The employees of Productos Tubulares have expressed their disgust with the management decisions, with a rally on Thursday morning, in front of the headquarters of Tubos Reuinidos in Bilbao. Some protesters have managed to enter the building and approach the doors of the management offices. Tubos Reunidos denounced that they have shouted “threats and insults” and have maintained an “aggressive” attitude.
On Saturday the workers will demonstrate in Sestao, in front of a company that produces material for Tubular Products.
