The LAB syndicate has called a four-hour stop on October 17 at the Amazon logistics center in Trapagaran. The centre has 109 workers and LAB is the largest trade union. It states that its staff calls for the improvement of working conditions, requiring the negotiation of the first convention of the centre. The stop will be from 5:30 to 9:30 hours.

Workers will ask for wage increases associated with the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Amazon continues with minimum working conditions in the collective transport agreement in Bizkaia, which, according to the union, is intended for the transport of goods by road and not so much for work in logistics centres. Therefore, they consider it necessary to "collect real professional categories" and reach an agreement with salary tables associated with CPI.

On the other hand, they want the number of weekend hours to be limited, as they have said that they are working more and more on weekends, and they will also demand that these hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays be rewarded.

In addition, they will claim the right to subrogation of the workers who distribute the packages; the right to subrogation is a pact that links the main company, despite the changes it has undergone, with the sub-contract. The state messaging agreement currently being implemented does not guarantee this, which prevents them from being able to negotiate. “They suffer from enormous precariousness: instability, lack of schedule and low wages,” the union said. Remember that distribution is an essential service for the development of Amazon’s activity.

In the Spanish state, in the years 2020 and 2021, Amazon declared net profits of €3,562,000.
