The group has denounced that the Basque Government is "exerting excessive pressure" for the construction of these two wind power plants in Álava, and that "the first instrument for pressure" is the Tapia Law, which gives more power to the government, to the detriment of the municipalities, in the report published by ARGIA journalist Zigor Olabarria Oleaga in May.

In the words of Montes Libres de Álava, PNV and Iberdrola "are doing their best" to carry out the projects, "regardless of whether they comply with the current regulations", and adds that they are taking advantage of the energy crisis as an "excuse" to "eliminate" the environmental protection laws developed over the years.

"We believe that renewable energies are necessary while respecting the environmental means that have been preserved over the centuries," said the members of the group, "it is unacceptable that the energy that is not consumed here be achieved in exchange for the industrialization of a saw that offers so much ecological energy to our territory". They note the need to protect forests in order to combat climate change and desertification.
