- The schools of Atxondo, Zaldibar and the Juan de Orobiogoitia Institute of Iurreta will have their own kitchen from summer onwards, and the Zabalarra School of Durango will begin to be built in the summer of 2022, as reported by the group Circles Platera, Circles Aukera.
The four centres are drafting, hiring and supervising the project and will use the holiday period to carry out the works.
As they reported last October, in addition to these centres in Durangaldea, the preliminary kitchen project is underway at the Murumendi school in Beasain and at the ikastola Lantziego the new Infant Education building will have a space for cooking. On the other hand, they are awaiting the decision of the Department of Education on the work of the kitchen of the ikastola Karmelo.
These seven public schools are the works included in the document "Infrastructure Plan 2019-2023" of the Basque Government. "Little by little and after years of work, we are recovering the kitchens in the public centers," said the members of the group Ensure Platera, Ensure Aukera, who ask for a healthy school dining room with local products.
