Softcatalà is a non-profit association that works in the promotion of Catalan on the Internet and in the new technologies. It's now 26 years old. Bethlehem Ivars, a member of the association, will tell us how and why it started. Among other things, it will explain to us what the activity was in its beginnings and how it has adapted to new times and needs over the years. The program will also carry out a review of the most successful tools of the season. It will also share the organization and internal functioning of the organization and the challenges it intends to face in the future.

Ivars is a physiotherapist by training. He worked at the City Hall of Benissa (Alicante) for 10 years, but between 2017 and 2019 he served as a councilor in the town hall. This experience recognizes that it changed her life, as she found other skills that were within her. This led him to recycle in his work, learning as self-taught in the technological field and working on communication and strategy. He recognizes that he has always liked to write, has a blog (‘Els borrellons del melic’) and a Youtube channel about feminism (‘Berlem, feminisme de poble’). Since 2020 he has been a member of the Softcatalà association. It has found the framework for developing its passion for technology.

What is Euskarabildua?

It is a news conference that aims to bring together Euskera and technology, a space for reflection and dissemination for innovative initiatives that want to influence society, and that offers the possibility of promoting the knowledge and technological innovation applicable in Basque society and in Euskera.

Iametza, Argia and Ametzagaiña jointly organise these conferences since 2012. This year will be held on October 17 at the San Telmo Museum from 09:00 in the morning.
