According to the note released by SOS Racism, in May 2018, the racist Silvia intervened in her defense against the presence of a Police vagabond at the gates of a supermarket. The Ertzaintza took him to the police station and there he “attacked violently,” “punched him.” After the woman’s complaint, the agents placed the opposition, but the incident is recorded on video and “the Ertzainas have had to step back in their story,” says SOS. Police action is disproportionate to the judicial car.

However, the Basque Government has demanded a seven-year prison sentence for Silvia, charged with “attack on resistance and authority.” In the words of SOS Racism, the government’s excessive denunciation can be interpreted as a punishment against Silvia for “reporting police torture.” In addition, SOS criticizes the refusal of Silvia to submit the expert report of the Istanbul Protocol to investigate torture for lack of records of the “serious” investigation.
