Father of the victim of sexual assault in Gaztelueta
"The son has been able to act courageously and the system has treated him with contempt"
  • The Supreme Court has reduced from eleven to two years the prison sentence to the professor who committed sexual abuse at the Gaztelueta College in Leioa, and has shown his anger with the father. “The sentence gives us reason, recognizes that the child is a victim of sexual abuse, but that is not enough; it is insulting and unacceptable for the court to think that some of the facts are not sufficiently proven and does a disservice to the fight against sexual violence.”

In statements to Radio Euskadi, Juan Cuatrecasas has been "hurt" by the situation created. In addition, he has thanked the support messages received and has ensured that all victims of sexual abuse are very angry with the sentence. “It’s time for the Church to do the homework.” As for the educational centre, he stressed that it has not been since the first minute of its journey. “Gaztelueta and Opus College must assume their responsibility.”

He has even said that his son is shattered and not worth it. “He has been able to act courageously throughout this process and the system has treated him with contempt.”
