In the Sixth District: Peio Dufau, Abertzale candidate of the New Popular Front, winner
  • Abertzale Peio Dufau remains the leader of the first round and the candidate of the New Popular Front won the elections in the sixth constituency with 37.51% of the votes. He was followed by the Macronist Christian Devèze, with 33.62% of the votes, and was followed by the National Union candidate, Victor Lastécouères, with 59.6%.

The sixth district occupies most of Lapurdi. From the first round, a tough battle was expected between 29.42% of Peio Dufau’s votes and the 1,844 votes in Devèze, with 26.92% of the votes. The extreme right also managed to move to the second round, in third position: The candidate of the National Union, Lastécouères, obtained 25.29% of the votes, which allowed the right vote to be split between the two.

Even those candidates who have not managed to move on to the second round, in the previous days, have encouraged their followers to vote, betting on one party or another. The aspiring Republican Emmanuelle Brisson, who was fourth in the first round, passed the message in favor of Devèz and got 8,546 votes in the first round. For his part, Jean Telletxea of the PNV voted for Dufau, and it should be noted that Telletxea won 3,712 votes on 30 March.

Despite everything, Dufau was the winner of the vote, with a total of 18,409 votes in favour. Ensemble's candidate, Devèze, has won 16,501 votes and the extreme right has won many votes in the sixth constituency, in this second round: 14.170.

Ensemble expires in 2022

The sixth district has changed color. In fact, in the previous elections to the French parliament, in 2022, Member Vincent Bru won the elections with a slack, with the Ensemble, with 60.21% of the votes (27,994 votes). The party that does not appear this year was the second, the left-wing coalition Herri Batasuna Ecological and Social Berria, led by Tom Dubois-robin. 39.79 per cent of the votes, 18,497 total votes.
