- The Federation of Ikastolas of Iparralde has begun a "new way" for students to be able to take the oral examination of the test of leave in Euskera: it will appeal for the first time in the administrative court, claiming that the agreement signed with the Ministry of Education of the French State gives them the right to do so.
The appeal of Seaska will be examined at the Administrative Tribunal in Pau on 23 May, as explained on Thursday by the president of the federation Peio Jorajuria and the director Hur Gorostiaga in Baiona. They want the great test of the underworld to be done in Euskera, because today only a minority can do so, although since 2019 "we have the commitment of the state", said Jorajuria.
The Ministry of Education, chaired by Jean-Michel Blanquer, signed an agreement with the Public Institute of the Basque Country (EEP) to enable the tests to be carried out in Euskera, but the Bordeaux leadership has hindered this route with another interpretation of the reform of the lower, they claim. However, according to the members of Seaska, the performance of exams in Basque is not difficult in practice, since in all the specialties there are professors who are able to correct the exams in Basque.
"We have made numerous mobilizations and interviews about the tests," Jorajuria explained, and now we have decided to choose a new path."
