Abascal responds first to the person who shouts “mission accomplished” (“we have met the goal”) when he goes on stage: “They will forgive me if we are not happy, but the first thing we want to say is that ETA and the Basque separatist party have won the elections”. It also stresses that it has achieved this with the help of the Spanish political class, not least because it opposes the legalization of EH Bildu.
He states that there is no freedom in the Basque Country and that there is still fear. Vox gets 20% more than in previous regional elections. He reminded the 21,000 citizens who voted that “Vox is not going to be a fashion, they are not going to destroy it, and in the reconstruction we are going to undertake in this land you are also the seed of reconquering”.
