Eñaut Martikorena:
"Depth and depth without confusing"
  • On 12 November the last match of the first round of semi-finals was played. The Bertsolaris travelled the road between expectation and pressure and, among them, Eñaut Martikor, who, besides giving the floor, has something to say.

You're being one of the surprises of this championship. How does it live?

It's always satisfying to positively surprise people, and the truth is that I like it, but I also noticed a point of pressure on the road to tabladure. However, it is not something I notice in everyday life.

A picture of him has been created. In a banner there appeared "Txirrita Gaztia", in the bertsos often mentioned Hernani, sidrería, nerviosa, chispeante…

The banner was made by people not very fond of Bertsolarism. I think there's a physical link between the few bertsolaris you know, so I think it's anecdotal.

The quotes from Tablado surprised me enough because I assumed the role of bertsolari in a collective imaginary, the most unknown in the area. On the other hand, from what has been written so far by me, I am very attached to humor and on my way to the camera I took all the extra of the big zortziko that I had in my head to humor and I believe that besides humor I have something to offer and capacity for messages. I didn't like to reproduce the stereotype, I would like to be the whole bertsolari, without confusing depth and depth.

In the audience, something comes up when you're going to sing. To say something?

I don't know why. Without another individual, I appreciate the attention paid.

What are you looking for in the bertsos?

For me, the bertso is a way of enjoying, emptying the interiors and putting on the role of others. At least in the plaza it is an exercise of humiliation of the situation, but above all what I seek in the verse is a way of making a more entertaining reflection.

Your brand has been time. How do you supplement the bertsos?

By the way I see the verse, I try to transmit the exercise as spontaneously as possible, not to start quickly, but to build the verse at the moment. I don't want to belittle other styles, I just try to convey as clean as possible my game with myself.

Then I am also not a person of great memory and I do not believe that by giving more laps I would be able to remember the bertso, so I would end up thinking at the moment. Furthermore, after the San Sebastian session, I had the feeling that time was underlined and that the content was shut down. In this sense, I went to Durango with a little bit of complexity.

As for the composition, I think about what I want to count and schematize how far I want to go with each verse. Sometimes not from the last point. I think it is proving very strongly that in bertsolaris schools you have to start at the end and it is OK as a tool, but I do not believe that dogma is the only way to make bertsos. It is the debate in other forms of expression focused on improvisation.

What tone does the Bertsolaris National Championship leave?

Pretty good taste, with its salads and sweets.
