1,750 people have met on November 28 at the sports club Anaitasuna in Pamplona to follow live the final of the Bertsolaris Championship of Navarra 2021. At 15:00 hours the doors of the room have been opened, and once the runway chairs and stands are filled, the bertsolaris have premiered at 17:00 hours, according to the order established by the draw:In the final of the Bertsolaris Championship will participate Julio Soto Altkurdia, Saioa Alkaiza Guallar, Eneko Fernandez Maritza
In the first part of the event, the eight bertsolaris have participated in five exercises: from two to eight, from two to eight, from one to one, from two to ten, and from one to one. In these exercises it has been Saioa Alkaiza and Eneko Lazkoz who have added more points, so they have come to the end by hand. In this section, work has been done initially by points and in a short sixth, and the day’s punctual session with the work of the prison has ended.

The jury, composed of six judges, has been in charge of judging the work of the bertsolaris: Amaia Telletxea, Cesar Etxeberria, Joseba Beltza, Mikel Beaumont, Nerea Bruño and Saioa Mitxelena. His scores have determined the champion and the full ranking. The top five have also obtained the right to participate in the 2022 Bertsolaris Absolute Championship, representing Navarra. The Navarra Arena of Pamplona/Iruña will host the final of this tournament that will be played this Saturday.
Estitxu Arozena Albizu has put the txapela to the winner of this year, in one of the most exciting moments of the day. In this way, the Bertsozale Elkartea association wanted to thank the work done in favor of bertsolarism such as bertsolari, professor of bertsos, promoter and organizer of the action. On behalf of the Association of Bertsozales of Euskal Herria, Igor Elortza Aranoa of the Presidential Group, has delivered the award. The rest of the prizes have been awarded by representatives of four Navarre cultural associations - Umore ona de Goizueta, Zaldi de Pamplona, Arrano de Lesaka and Beterri de Tudela, who wanted to make a nod to the work that these associations have done for years in favor of Bertsolarism.
End of a road
The championship started on October 2 in Isaba, with a season start. After passing through the Roncal Valley, and after touring Tafalla, Sangüesa, Doneztebe, Altsasua, Berriozar and Leitza, the tour has ended in Pamplona with the end of today.
For two months, the Navarre capital has travelled for 45 months the green, yellow and red areas of the CAV. Bertsolaris Championships of Navarre, cultural creation, Bertsolarism and bringing the Basque to many parts of the country. Along the way, almost 4000 people have joined the championship, and Navarre Bertsolarism has burst into the Plaza de Navarra in a solid, healthy and varied way.
In this sense, Navarro Bertsolarism has played its part in an attempt to cope with the situation generated by the pandemic and revitalize the cultural plazas. In fact, the championship started later than expected, postponed by the pandemic. Along the way, the fragility of cultural activity was highlighted and the bertsos square slowed down completely. In this sense, the championship was set in motion to give a push and a cry, and with that intention it has continued to this day.
