Two parallel meetings have been held in the morning, one from the Osakidetza Directorate to complete the restructuring of the ESI Donostia management team and the other from the hand of Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu and Counsellor Gotzone Sagardui. In recent hours there have been two dismissals and at least three resignations at the Donostia Hospital, and 28 heads of service have sent a letter denouncing the actions of Osakidetza and the Department of Health, noting that they have suicidal, vertical and centralized policies.
Osakidetza confirmed at noon that OSI Donostia was to be restructured as soon as possible, and has done so: The current head of OSI Bidasoa, Agustín Agirre, will be in charge of provisionally managing the largest centre in Gipuzkoa, and Ana Bustinduy, the medical director. Aguirre has been in the Hospital del Bidasoa for several months, being responsible for OSI Debagoiena and coinciding with the three anesthesiologists who reported fraud in the 2018 OPE call. Two of them left their jobs on their own, because they were "persecuted"; Roberto Sánchez, who left the post, denounced in a public statement last spring Agirre as part of the witch hunt.
The Health Advisor, Gotzone Sagardui, has started the hearing informing of these restructuring, with a delay of half an hour and a meeting of almost two hours of the Lehendakari. During that time, although they have resigned, the counselor has not put on the table the possibility of denying it with certainty and doing so, even skipping questions. In fact, he wished to stress that OSI Donostiako Zuzendaria is not naked and that "these changes will benefit everyone". In addition, it clearly states that the members of these new management teams share the view of senior officials in Osakidetza.
Without losing sight of the reasons for the termination, he understands that there were already discrepancies with local authorities. But in any case, he insists that each organization has a specific role and that it is the function of the management teams to comply with what is being asked.
