Goiena Televisión’s Culturalizaciones has received the highest award, emphasizing that it is a “modern program”. According to the jury, "it allows us to pause in the fast times in which we live in a pleasant and entertaining way, and at the same time, away from frivolity. Topics that are highly relevant are analyzed, even if they are topics that are not on the commercial agenda. I think it’s all about seeing and analysing these things.”

In short, the prize has been awarded because it is in line with the journalistic model that the Rikardo Arregi Awards seek to promote, according to the jury: "Quality, being adapted to the needs of the time, modernity, excellence, innovation and exemplarity". Oihane Agirre, Goiena’s TV director, and Txomin Madina, Monika Montero, Andoni Bodes and Mikel Ezko have been the recipients of the award.

Special award to the collection of reports 'in Don Quixote'

The special prize of the jury has been awarded by the journalist Iñigo Astiz and the illustrator Maite Mutuberria for the book of reports in La Quijote. For New Astiz began a series of reports about Miguel de Cervantes on the occasion of the fourth centenary of his death. It was published as a book with illustrations of Mutuberria.

The jury highlighted the combination of literature, journalism and illustrations, adding that the project is "a unique creation, easy to read and at the same time very high".

The Court also made two special mentions. One was the Rainbow supplement, published by Noticias, for its 20th anniversary, and the other was the first newspaper in Basque, Dia, because it was created 80 years ago. The Deputy of Culture of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Lorea Bilbao, received the second prize, since the Provincial Council is the only institution with the entire collection.

Finally, the New Journalist Award, has been vacant this year, since the first awards began to be awarded, because the few works that have been awarded, according to the jury, did not have the level to receive the award.
