Action against a gas station in Repsol to denounce the “increase of life” in Villabona
  • Anonymous citizens have only sent the video and the statement to ARGIA to explain the action: they have opposed the gas station to denounce that it has become "an unsustainable situation for Basque staff", while "capital, protected by constant excuses, continues to fill its pockets". They stress that "to shake citizens' consciences" direct actions are needed, and that "sovereignty must be built" to "face capital".

The direct action against the Repsol gas station in Villabona (Gipuzkoa) was carried out by a group of anonymous citizens in the early morning of 1 September and, as can be seen in this video sent to ARGIA, the tubes destined for the petrol vehicle were cut, among others. In a note, they explain that action has been taken to denounce the “unsustainable situation” caused by the “increased life” and the “increased precariousness”.

They consider “capital” to be responsible for the “unsustainable situation of the Basque workforce”: “Capital, protected by continuous excuses, keeps its pockets as our misery grows.” It was no accident that the action was taken against a gas station in Repsol, which warned that “in this context of crisis” Repsol has “tripled” its benefits. They have also recalled that Iberdrola and Telefónica are increasing their profits, among others. “The desire to enrich capital has no limits,” they criticized.

Call for the Constitution of Sovereignty

“We need direct actions to shake citizens’ consciences and deal with capital,” the note points out. They have demanded that they reaffirm themselves in the “struggle for a dignified life” and that they will not accept the current “false comfort”. To this end, they stress the need to “eradicate dependency and build sovereignty”: “It is imperative that we organize ourselves to point out and deal with those who condemn us to misery”.
