In memory of Ramuntxo Camblong (1939-2021)

Etchebest underlined that Camblong has pioneered the link between the economy and culture, as well as advocating Basque cultural governance. He was the first president of the Basque Cultural Institute between 1990 and 1994.

Ramuntxo Camblong was founded in the Etxeparia house of Makea (on the farm) on 11 November 1939. He's the oldest in the family of six children.

He studied at Luhuso Public School up to the age of 10 (1949). He then walks into Hazparne's San Josepe College and then passes low science at the San Francisco Liceo de Uztaritze. After finishing the terminal he had to repeat at the Liceo Villa Pia de Baiona at the Liceo San Francisco de Maule (1957-1958), he obtained the second lower (first level mathematics) in 1959.

After studying at the Institute of Higher Electronics (ISEP) in Paris, he stays in Paris for the first three years, the last two to go to Angers. His diploma earned him in 1964 and, consequently, he did so at the Institute of Balloon Physics in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés to study terrestrial magnetism.

In 1965, Thomson entered Paris in the TV company. After the death of his father, in August 1966 he decided to return to the town. In October of the same year he enters as a professor of electronics, mathematics and physics at Hazparne Technical School until 1977 (all the time until 1974, with half the time in the last three years).

In 1974 it created the Parzonera Society to promote French cooperatives in the French Basque Country based on the model of the Guipuzkoan cooperative network and in 1975 founded the Copelec cooperative for the construction of electricity networks. He will be Director-General until 1998.

It also creates Copelectronic (production of electrical and electronic networks, 1985) and SIG Image (publication of the programme for external networks, 1993).

It assists in the creation of SOKOA SA in Hendaya (1971, manufacturing of office chairs) as the company’s external development manager, terminating its career (from December 1998 to October 2002).

Herrira is one of the founders of the venture capital company in 1980 and president of the Regional Union of the SCOPs of Aquitaine between 1986 and 1996, and has thus been a member of the Economic and Social Council of the Region of Aquitaine.

Ramuntxo Camblong has pioneered the link between the economy and culture and advocated Basque cultural governance: SEASKA, one of the founders of the federation of ikastolas in 1969, first president of the cultural centre of the Basque Country between 1984 and 1988 and, subsequently, of the Basque Cultural Institute between 1990 and 1994, first president of the Development Council of the Basque Country between 1994 and 1998.

Enbata has also become known in the political sphere, entering the first nationalist movement of the Basque Country Herria since the early 1960s and, in Hego Euskal Herria, in 1895 he founded the Basque Nationalist Party - Partido Nacional Vasco, in EAJ-PNV in 1999. In this way, he was an advisor to the people of Angelu from 2001 to 2008.

In May 1968, Ramuntxo married Rosa Donostiarra. They've had three children and since then they've become grandparents.
