Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia has prepared a connection from the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to send gas to Europe, as can be read in The Guardian. This pipeline has not been damaged in the sabotages of recent weeks and is already in operation. Putin has made the news at the Russian Energy Week International Forum.
It is also possible to repair the damage to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, but to do so it has pointed out that the European Union must give its yes: “Russia is ready for the gas delivery mechanisms; if it wants to take advantage of them, it only has to open the tap”.
In the context of the energy crisis that Europe is expecting for the winter, Putin adds that Russia is not guilty of the price increase, but that it is Europe itself that has caused the global energy crisis and that, moreover, the poorest countries will suffer the most from the high prices.
