The aim of this initiative is to denounce the "state of emergency" of the prison policy applied to prisoners in the Spanish and French states. Joseba Azkarraga and Inaxio Oiartzabal, members of Sare, have stated that "it is time to end with so many years of suffering and begin to take decisive steps towards resolution and coexistence." The mobilization will begin in the Donostiarra neighborhood of the Old and will end at the Donostiarra beach of the Concha, forming a great mosaic.

Although Sare has acknowledged that in recent months there have been rapprochement and transfer of prisoners, he said that it is not enough, "of the 204 prisoners there are only six in Basque jails" and has called for the "definitive cessation" of this situation.

The situation of the coronavirus has substantially changed the daily lives of prisoners and their relatives. "In jails, it must be taken into account that they live in enclosed and massive places, which entails precarious health and hygiene conditions," he said, the relatives of the two deceased have said that they have no difficulty in making the visits. "This is a situation affecting 89 children of prisoners, many of whom have not seen their father, their mother or both for more than six months." They added that it is time to seize this moment and called on Basque citizens to be in Donostia-San Sebastián on Saturday.

In mobilisation, where security measures will be ensured, they will be organised in four rows and the participants will wear their mask. The distance between rows will be one and a half meters in all momento.En the final mosaic will be respected the same measures. In view of the recent restrictive measures taken by the Basque Government following the health crisis, Sare has announced that it will adapt the call to the new situation and that the mosaic will be completed with "600 people linked to most of the towns and neighborhoods of Euskal Herria".
