The former prisoners in the Chantrea district of Pamplona have been optimistic about the response of the initiative “The Prisoners in Struggle, We Too”.

The initiative aimed to denounce the situation of Patxi Ruiz, support the demands being made in prisons and the commitment to “activate the mechanisms” for the solution. Besides showing the situation of their neighbors and friends Ruiz, they wanted to highlight Ruiz's demands.

The proponents of the initiative consider it essential for the citizens to respond and denounce the constant violation of the rights of Basque political prisoners. In this sense, and taking into account the accession signatures received, the former political prisoners of the Txantrea consider that there is a “huge desire, conviction and determination to contribute positively and actively”. Over 200 former Basque political prisoners have received signatures.

All accessions received have been collected in the video:

“As far as possible, we will try to ensure that this dynamic makes it possible to consolidate and build new initiatives. They also opened working spaces to help overcome inertia and to move forward on the road to the repatriation of Basque political prisoners.”
