Under the motto "Porno is a school of violence against women", Emakunde, the Department of Equality of the Basque Government, the three Foreign Ministers and EUDEL have launched the campaign since day 10. November 25 is the International Day against Violence against Women and until then the campaign will continue in different media, television, media, street media and social networks.

At the joint press conference offered by institutional representatives, it was stressed that the campaign aims to raise awareness of the risks of leaving young people's sexual education to pornography.

Data on the subject are provided. For example, 88.2% of porn scenes present physical or verbal violence against women and the average age of first contact with porn is 12 years. 33.4% of adolescents consider that porn strongly influences their sexual relations.

In the presentation of the campaign, Counsellor Melgosa explained that young people have never had pornography so far: “The advancement of technology, the omnipresence of the Internet, has led to a massive expansion of pornography in our society, unprecedented, with an immense, free and 24-hour supply.” He considers that "the problem is not sex, but violence, because the porn that is consumed mainly is violent against women". Melgica adds that pornography becomes a school of violence and a sort of instruction book about what teenagers have to do in their relationships. Melody talks about the collective erotic imaginary that builds pornography: “[In this imaginary] violent attitudes towards women normalize; an imaginary where empathy with the other person disappears and is replaced by power relations; men who learn to dominate, women who learn to abide and be humiliated”. She says that with the most consumed porn "violent and dominant masculinity and friendly, coded femininity are reinforced, always within reach of male pleasure".

Melgoña points out that quality sex education is a tool for the prevention of violence and calls on society, institutions, social agents and families not to associate sex with violence and humiliation of women.

Look at Elgarresta, director of Emakunde, talked about the Jakina programme. In this program, people who are experts in affective-sexual education work. She adds that pornography consumed is not only full of violence, but also of racist and sexist stereotypes and prejudices.
