Polish courts extend the detention of Pablo González for another three months
  • The court in the area of Prezemsyl has decided to accept the request of the prosecutor. In other words, to extend for three months the provisional prison of the Basque journalist Pablo González, according to the EFE berri agency. ARGIA has been able to confirm with her family that they will keep her under the same conditions, without the right to visits or telephone calls to her relatives. He has been in prison for 87 days in Poland.

"The Court has decided to extend the detention for another three months," explains Polish lawyer Bartosz Rogasa de González to the EFE.

Rogasa points out that according to Polish law it is not allowed to detail the reasons for the court’s decision. The appeal shall be lodged with the Court of Appeal of Rzeszów within seven days.

Pablo González is a 40-year-old journalist born in Russia and residing in Nabarniz (Bizkaia). In Poland he is at risk of being sentenced to ten years in prison for performing a journalism. This report has just explained who he is and what has happened to him in detention.
