PODCAST #61 | Bayer is in Mexico to ban GMOs and glyphosate
- The Mexican Government adopted the agreement to ban the production and import of transgenic maize, as well as glyphosate (herbicide), on 31 December 2020, to “protect indigenous maize” and “defend food sovereignty”. The multinationals and representatives of the agro-industrial industry believe that these bans run counter to the free trade agreements. Among them is Bayer, the pharmaceutical group that bought Monsanto for 63 billion dollars in 2018.
